Born from Frustration with Closed Ecosystems
Our journey began in 2020 when Yanko Aleksandrov, after years of building transport management systems at Loadsmart, saw how the logistics industry benefited from open platforms and realized the robotics industry needed the same.
While building autonomous drone systems as a side project, Yanko experienced firsthand the frustration of closed ecosystems, limited APIs, and vendor lock-in.
After 5 years of part-time development and refinement, SkyHub was born—the first truly hardware-agnostic, open API cloud platform for autonomous drone fleets.

First lines of code written for what would become SkyHub, built alongside a full-time role at Loadsmart.

Completed construction of the Nexus Vertical Airport—an automated hangar with roof access door and drone lift system. Observer long-range inspection drone in production.
